Airbag module repair after a crash
Airbag module after a crash
Resetting the airbag (SRS) module after a crash to clear the crash codes stored in EEPROM.
What you need to know
- On deployment the airbag ECU writes a crash code to EEPROM, which locks it.
- We re-read and erase those crash codes after inspecting the module.
- The pyrotechnic parts (airbags, pretensioners) must be replaced separately.
How it works
1. Dismantle and read module
Read the EEPROM after removal.
2. Clear crash data
Erase the crash codes in EEPROM.
3. Bench validation
Validation on the test bench.
4. Reassemble + OBD tests
Reassembly and OBD tests.
