Pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2018/858 and articles 24bis and 70 of the Belgian Royal Decree of 15/03/1968, the use on public roads of a vehicle whose emission control devices have been tampered with is prohibited and may result in inspection refusal, deregistration and criminal penalties.
